Most of us will have the blessing of being with our loved ones this Christmas, but for many of those in uniform, being home for Christmas will be “only in their dreams.” Thankfully, under the leadership of Brian Cassada, the First Baptist Church Servicemen’s Ministry will be hosting up to 500 sailors all day Christmas day, providing three home-cooked meals, games, entertainment, fellowship, and–the star atop the tree—free phone time for every sailor to call his loved ones. This radio station, 90.5, The Key, is partnering with the “Adopt-a-Sailor” program and asking our listeners to sponsor one or more sailors for only $20 per sailor. To cover the costs of food, entertainment, phone calls, etc., the Servicemen’s Ministry needs to raise some much-needed funds. Won’t you help? You can call the radio station during business hours to pledge at 219.228.2931. Or you can send a check or money order made out to FBC Hammond with “Sailors” in the memo line to WRTW, 507 State Street, Hammond, IN 46320. Pledge a sailor today!
